It's difficult to write about yourself, especially for the first time, but sometimes is necessary.
I am Tarek Ismail from Zawtar, Lebanon. In 1996, I made the decision to become a programmer. Going from a young farmer to a programmer for management systems was a difficult choice between two different worlds, especially in a fragile and unstable environment with limited resources. However, now in 2023, I own a small business that provides software development and custom-made solutions for small businesses. To date, I have written almost 100,000 lines of code and have produced more than 10 custom-made software programs that are currently being used in the market.
My passion for coding and the satisfaction I get from solving problems, completing solutions, and creating custom-made software is both an advantage and a weakness. This field requires a great deal of thinking, solitude, and silence, which sometimes makes me feel like I am taking time away from caring for my family, wife, and children. If I were to offer any advice, it would be that you cannot become a developer without the support, patience, understanding, and love of your wife—just like my own wife. If you are seeking pride, it should come first from your wife, then from your children and family, and finally from your customers.
The truth is, while we strive to satisfy our customers and provide simple solutions for their businesses, they often can't comprehend the level of fatigue and exhaustion we endure. Only those who are by our side truly understand that. This is why I chose the picture for my profile—to symbolize these sentiments and experiences.
